East Lincolnshire has much to offer those searching for an interesting break away. One of the main attractions that brings people to East Lincolnshire is the beech, promenade and scenery offered to those who choose to stay in the beautiful seaside town of Cleethorpes.
Our B&B is situated within a very comfortable walking distance from a huge choice of daily excursions, walks, and holiday activities, that you are sure to enjoy. For example, there is a whole host of cafes and shops, as well as arcade centres, toy and gift stores, and even a bowling alley to enjoy during you visit to our B&B in East Lincolnshire.
The proximity of our B&B to the sights of Cleethorpes in East Lincolnshire, is just one of the reasons why our B&B accommodation has proven to be popular with holiday makers. Other features include our tasty home cooked breakfast, and our cosy rooms complete with tea trays and flat screen televisions in every room. For added luxury, we also have a king size suite available that holds a seating lounge area, and microwave and fridge perfect for those extended visits to East Lincolnshire.
As well as all of the usual sights you would see at a seaside town, such as a promenade, a pier and the many seaside cafes and various gardens, you can also visit the East Lincolnshire, Cleethorpes light railway that was set up in 1948. This railway runs from near the Cleethorpes leisure centre, located just a 20 minutes’ walk away from our B&B, from Kingsway Station to Lakeside station, home to where the Smallest Pub on the Planet is located, otherwise known as The Signal Box Inn, and as far as where the mouth of the river Buck Beck is located.
All along the train ride there are plenty of beautiful sights to see. After starting your day with a hearty breakfast at Wheelers B&B, you may wish to make your way over to the Kingsway station, so you can get an early start in seeing all there is to offer. Before hoping on any of the trains however, check out the railways gift shop, stocked with plenty of railway themed gifts, available to purchase as a memory of your trip away in East Lincolnshire, or as a present to take home to your family and friends.
You will no doubt be able to learn much about the locomotives during your travels, either by reading any information available or by asking the loco drivers and staff themselves. Some of the trains have their own individual distinctive features. For example, the No.24 has a very distinctive whistle, and can, at times, be heard from long distances away.
If you choose to alight at the Lakeside train station, then you may enjoy a visit to The Jungle Zoo, or to explore the local boating lake. After enjoying a day’s adventure such as this, you will no doubt appreciate making your way back to our comfortable and welcoming B&B in the evening.
